Frequently asked questions
How do performance nasal strips actually work?
The strips feature a built-in "spring" or tension band. When applied to the bridge of the nose, they physically lift the sides of the nostrils (the nasal valves). This opens the airway and reduces resistance, allowing for a higher volume of oxygen intake with less effort.
What makes these different from standard drugstore strips?
While drugstore strips are often designed for light sleeping, VAYR performance strips feature:
- Stronger Adhesive: To stay on during heavy sweating or high-intensity movement.
- Increased Tension: A stiffer band to keep airways open even during deep, forceful inhalations.
- Contoured Fit: Designed to stay secure on different nose shapes during facial movement.
Will the strip stay on if I’m sweating heavily?
Yes. Our PRO version is designed with adhesive specifically engineered for sweaty sessions. They will last for a moderate duration. For best results, ensure your nose is clean and dry (free of oils or moisturizers) before application.
Can I use these for sleep as well as sports?
Absolutely. While they are built for the rigors of the gym or the trail, they are excellent for nighttime use to reduce snoring and promote nasal breathing, which can improve overall recovery and sleep quality.
quick trouble shooting
Problem: Edges are peeling
- Potential Cause: Skin was oily, sweaty, or had moisturizer on it.
- Solution: Wash your nose with soap and water or use an alcohol wipe before applying. Ensure the skin is 100% dry.
Problem: Irritated skin after use
- Potential Cause: "Dry removal" (pulling the strip off while the adhesive is still fully bonded).
- Solution: Always remove the strip during a warm shower or use a dab of baby oil to loosen the adhesive before pulling.
Problem: Not feeling enough airflow
- Potential Cause: The strip is placed too high on the bridge of the nose.
- Solution: Move the strip slightly lower. It should sit just above the point where your nostrils begin to flare to get the best "lift."
